Maa Narmada Bhog Seva Samiti Distributes Khichdi on Hariyali Amavasya

Community Service on Auspicious Occasion

Narmadapuram, August 12, 2026 - On the auspicious occasion of Hariyali Amavasya, observed as the new moon of the Krishna Paksha in the month of Shravan, the Maa Narmada Bhog Seva Samiti organized a significant service initiative. The committee respectfully distributed khichdi prasad to devotees who had gathered for Narmada snan (holy bath) at the Shri Ram-Janki temple located at Sethani Ghat.

A large number of devotees participated in this religious event, with committee members enthusiastically contributing to the service work. Hariyali Amavasya holds special significance in Sanatan tradition, being associated with nature conservation, the worship of Lord Shiva, and peace for ancestors. This act of distributing prasad was conducted on this spiritual occasion with the aim of promoting the spirit of service, harmony, and social participation.

Five Years of Continuous Service

The Maa Narmada Bhog Seva Samiti has been actively engaged in such service activities for the past five years. The committee has consistently organized the distribution of bhog and prasad for devotees on every full moon, new moon, and various special festivals. A significant number of devotees visit Sethani Ghat for Narmada snan, and the committee members considered it their religious and social duty to serve them by distributing khichdi prasad.

Commitment to Service and Social Responsibility

During the program, the committee members also received the blessings of Dada Guru Bhaiyaji Sarkar, which further boosted their enthusiasm. The devotees present and the committee workers collaboratively completed this service work in a religious and harmonious atmosphere. Committee members stated on this occasion that serving devotees arriving at the Narmada banks is a matter of faith and a social responsibility for them. They are committed to continuing such service activities on festival occasions in the future.
