The Crime Unveiled

Akshat, 19, confessed to killing his 49-year-old father, a pathology lab owner, in their Aashiana residence. He committed the crime on February 20th after a heated argument.

The argument stemmed from pressure to crack the National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test (NEET). Akshat used his father's licensed rifle in the act.

Dismemberment and Disposal Attempt

Following the shooting at around 4:30 am, Akshat dragged the body from the third floor to the ground floor. He then dismembered the body.

He disposed of some body parts, including the head, in Sadrauna. The torso was hidden in a blue plastic drum at their home.

Akshat's attempt to dispose of the torso was thwarted by police patrolling the area. His suspicious behavior led to questioning and eventual confession.

Police Investigation and Findings

 

"He was in the process of getting rid of the body part when we intervened," a police source revealed.

 

 

"His inconsistent statements raised red flags. Strict interrogation led to his confession," said DCP Central Zone, Vikrant Vir.

 

A search of the house revealed the drum containing the mutilated remains. Forensic teams are analyzing bloodstains in the house and car.

Police are searching Sadrauna for the missing body parts. The rifle and a ricochet bullet found at the scene have been sent for forensic examination.

Family Background and Motives

Akshat had filed a missing person report for his father on February 20th. He reportedly shot his father in front of his sister, threatening her to remain silent.

Police revealed that Akshat managed his father's liquor store and received Rs 17,000 monthly but remained unhappy.

The victim was originally from Jalaun district and is the son of a retired cop. He is survived by his son, daughter (a class 11 student) and a younger brother serving in UP Police.

The police stated that the father wanted Akshat, who scored well in class XII, to crack the NEET exam.
