Liquor Prohibition Week Concludes in Damoh
The 'Liquor Prohibition Week,' organized by the Department of Social Justice and Disability Empowerment, Government of Madhya Pradesh, from October 2 to October 8, 2026, concluded today in Damoh. Various creative activities were held to spread the importance of drug de-addiction to every citizen.
During the concluding ceremony, students from different educational institutions in the district were honored. Among them, the female students of PMShri Kesho Ram Pandey Excellent Secondary School brought laurels to the institution with their outstanding performance.
District-Level Competitions Showcase Talent
District-level competitions were organized on October 3 at the Government Excellent School as part of the program. These events included street plays and drawing competitions centered on the message of drug de-addiction.
Eight students from the eleventh grade of PMShri Kesho Ram Pandey School – Prachi Raikwar, Nandini Sahu, Anjali Yadav, Aradhana Raikwar, Babita Rajak, Palak Rajak, and Vaishnavi Raikwar – presented a poignant street play on the theme 'Liquor Prohibition.' This play, prepared under the skillful guidance of their mentor teacher, Mrs. Premlata Upadhyay, secured the second position at the district level.
Art Competition Success for Students
In addition to the street play, a twelfth-grade student from the school, Ankita, also showcased her talent in the drawing competition. Ankita also brought pride to the school by securing the second position in this competition.
Through these competitions, the students effectively depicted the ill effects of substance abuse and the necessity of its eradication from society, thereby spreading awareness among the assembled public.
Awards and Inspiration at the Closing Ceremony
At the concluding ceremony held on October 8, mentor teacher Mrs. Premlata Upadhyay mesmerized the audience with an inspiring song. On this occasion, the victorious students and their mentor teacher, Mrs. Premlata Upadhyay, were honored with prizes and certificates by the district administration.
The school family expressed joy over the students' achievement and wished them a bright future. The event succeeded in its objective of spreading public awareness about liquor prohibition across the district. The school's female students, under the guidance of Mrs. Upadhyay, are consistently achieving success in various block, district, division, and state-level competitions.
