Protest Intensifies Over Online Land Mutation System
The lawyers' agitation against the new online land mutation system in Balrampur has been escalating. Advocates who arrived at the Collectorate on Thursday to submit their demands were unable to meet with the District Magistrate, Dr. Vipin Kumar Jain.
Angered by this, the lawyers raised slogans and protested against the administration within the Collectorate premises. Officials from the Bar Association allege that despite being informed of the lawyers' presence, the District Magistrate exited through a back door. The lawyers condemned this act and passed a censure motion against the District Magistrate.
Censure Motion to be Sent to Chief Minister
This resolution will be forwarded to the Chief Minister and the Principal Secretary of the state. The lawyers expressed deep dissatisfaction with not being able to meet the District Magistrate and his alleged absence.
Revenue Courts to be Boycotted
Following the unsuccessful meeting and the District Magistrate's perceived absence, the lawyers have decided on a complete boycott of revenue courts in the coming days. They have clearly announced their abstention from judicial work on Friday as well. The boycott will continue until their demands are properly addressed.
Strategy Meeting to be Held
In addition to refraining from judicial work, the lawyers have also decided to convene a general assembly on Friday. This meeting will be held to deliberate on future strategies and take steps to further intensify the movement.
Administration's Response
On the other hand, the district administration issued an official statement to clarify the incident. According to the administration, the District Magistrate was unable to be present at that time due to a delay in a pre-scheduled program, which led to the situation. The administration also stated that the lawyers' protest is currently ongoing and directly impacting judicial work.
Given the sensitivity of the matter, the situation is being closely monitored at the administrative level to ensure the smooth conduct of future proceedings.
