As evening falls, the crematorium is engulfed in darkness, causing significant inconvenience to visitors. During a recent incident, when a body was brought to the Budhe Balaji Muktidham for cremation, there was no proper lighting system in place.

Family Forced to Use Mobile Lights for Funeral Rites

In this somber moment, the family and other attendees had to illuminate the funeral proceedings using their mobile phone torches. The family not only had to contend with the darkness but also faced mental distress due to the lack of basic amenities.

This is not the first time that a lack of basic facilities and administrative negligence have been highlighted at the city's crematoriums. Previously, similar scenes of funerals being conducted under mobile light had emerged from the crematorium in Cantt.

Citizens Demand Immediate Action for Lighting and Generators

Citizens have urged the Collector and the Municipal Administration to take immediate action. Their primary demand is to ensure adequate lighting systems at all crematoriums in the city, including the installation of high-mast lights and arrangements for generators.

They hope that this time, the administration will seriously consider their demands and implement the necessary improvements, ensuring that no family has to face such disarray during a time of sorrow in the future.
