Kumbhraj Patwaris Mobilize Over Salary, Promotion, and Stability Demands

Pending Issues Prompt Memorandum

Patwaris posted in the Kumbhraj tehsil of Guna district staged a protest on Monday, submitting a memorandum to the Tehsildar demanding resolution of their various pending issues. Rajkumar Dubey, President of the Patwari Union, Tehsil Kumbhraj, highlighted that several significant matters have remained unresolved for an extended period, causing difficulties for the patwari community.

Salary Delays and Promotion Stagnation

A key issue raised in the memorandum is the non-payment of salaries to patwaris even after the tenth of August, despite the rule stipulating payment by the first of the month. Furthermore, the memorandum points out that the second and third-time scale promotions (kramonnati) for employees like Babulal Bhil, Sarvan Meena, Rajkumar Dubey, and Rajesh Verma have not yet been sanctioned. The process of regularization for several patwaris also remains pending.

Unverified Service Records and Arrears

The patwaris also informed officials that their service books and DPF passbooks have not been verified for years. Additionally, the payment of arrears for many patwaris is still outstanding. According to the memorandum, all these tasks fall under the purview of the Office Kanungo Branch, currently supervised by Rajeev Srivastava, a clerk attached from the Madhusudanpur municipality.

Allegations of Incompetence and Demands for Transfer

The patwaris allege that due to a lack of adequate knowledge regarding the functions of the concerned branch, these employee-related tasks have been delayed. The Patwari Union has demanded the transfer of बाबू राजीव श्रीवास्तव back to his parent department to ensure the smooth processing of these matters. Other demands include the removal of private employees from the tehsil's official WhatsApp group.

Additional Demands for Support and Facilities

The memorandum also seeks the prompt release of pending subsistence allowance for the suspension period of patwari Ramu Prajapati. Furthermore, the patwaris expressed the expectation of proper drinking water arrangements for farmers in the tehsil office. Mahendra Singh Kirar, District President of the Patwari Union, appealed to the administration for a swift resolution of all these pending issues to provide relief to both employees and farmers.
