Preparations Underway for Chalihaha Festival Conclusion
Katni | August 21, 2026 - Mayor Manish Pathak on Thursday, August 21, 2026, inspected the event site near Masurha Ghat on the Katni River to review arrangements for the concluding ceremony of the Chalihaha festival of Lord Shri Jhulelal. The important religious event is scheduled for the upcoming Sunday, August 23, 2026.
The Mayor instructed officials and staff to prioritize the convenience and health of devotees, ensuring all necessary arrangements are in place. He directed the regional health inspector and ward supervisor to ensure thorough cleanliness of the ghat premises and surrounding areas.
Hygiene and Health Focus
Emphasis was placed on cleaning drains and spraying insecticides in required locations to prevent any inconvenience or health issues for the devotees. Shri Pathak stated that all attendees must have access to a clean and safe environment.
Water and Security Measures
To ensure sufficient drinking water for devotees, the Mayor ordered the placement of water tankers, ensuring no one remains thirsty. He also directed officials to complete all arrangements before the event begins and maintain continuous monitoring of cleanliness and water supply during the festival.
“The conclusion of Lord Shri Jhulelal Ji’s Chalihaha festival is an important occasion of devotion and faith. The corporation’s endeavor is to provide an excellent and accessible environment to the devotees attending this auspicious occasion,” said Mayor Manish Pathak.
Event Schedule Details
The concluding ceremony on Sunday, August 23, will feature several religious programs. A grand procession will commence from Shri Jhulelal Temple, Gurnank Ward, to Masurha Ghat at 8:00 AM. This will be followed by Aarti-Puja and Pallav rituals at 11:00 AM, concluding with the immersion of the Akhand Jyot.
A large community feast (Bhandara) is also scheduled for 1:00 PM, where Guruprasad will be distributed. Mayor Manish Pathak urged the city residents and all devotees to participate actively in this sacred event and receive the blessings of Lord Shri Jhulelal Ji.
Present during the inspection were councilors Sukhdev Choudhary, Omprakash Balli Soni, Avkash Jaiswal, Brahmin Samaj President Raju Sharma, Rupesh Khubchandani, Suresh Gandhi, Anil Nevand Khubchandani, Rajesh Khubchandani, Amar Chetwani, along with committee office-bearers and members.
