This day is observed in remembrance of the indomitable courage, bravery, and supreme sacrifice of the Indian Army in the 1999 Kargil War. On this special occasion, the nation has offered humble tributes to the brave sons who sacrificed their lives for the defence of the country.
On the 26th anniversary of this historic victory, President Droupadi Murmu, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, and Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, along with many Union ministers, chief ministers, and deputy chief ministers of states, remembered the immortal heroes of the Indian Army and paid homage to their unparalleled valour.
