Kareli Inaugurates Rs 24.60 Crore Development Projects, Lays Foundation for Rs 11.40 Crore New Works

Kareli Marks Four Years of Development with Grand Inauguration and Foundation Laying Ceremony

The Kareli Municipal Council has successfully concluded its four-year term, presenting the city with a significant gift of development works. Under the banner of the 'Chaar Saal Bemisal' (Four Years Unparalleled) program, the council inaugurated 227 completed development projects from the past four years, amounting to approximately 24.60 crore rupees. On this occasion, the foundation stone was also laid for 26 new development projects, valued at 11.40 crore rupees, marking a commitment to future growth.

An modern indoor stadium, with an estimated cost of around 2.25 crore rupees, was also initiated at the HV Kamath Stadium complex. A special magazine titled 'Chaar Saal Bemisal', detailing the council's achievements and developmental journey over the last four years, was unveiled during this significant event. Through this publication, the council presented a comprehensive account of its works, plans, and efforts towards the city's development to the public.

Commemoration and Tiranga Yatra

The grand inauguration and foundation laying ceremony for the development works commenced at approximately 6 PM at the old Agricultural Produce Market premises with a floral tribute to the statue of the Immortal Martyr Bhagat Singh. Following this, a massive Tiranga Yatra (Tricolor March) was organized across the city, with enthusiastic participation from citizens, public representatives, and workers of the Bharatiya Janata Party.

Thousands of people, holding the Indian flag and chanting patriotic slogans, marched through the city streets. This Tiranga Yatra passed through various important intersections, where floral tributes were paid to the statues of great personalities such as Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar, Thakur Niranjan Singh, former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, Veer Shiromani Maharana Pratap, and Ganesh Shankar Vidyarthi. The yatra culminated at the main event venue in Bajrang Chowk and Mahadev Ward.

Detailed Overview of Completed Projects

During the main ceremony, the Kareli Municipal Council presented a detailed account of the 227 development works completed in the past four years. These projects include the installation of street lights, road safety breakers, road markings, 'Izzat Ghar' (public toilets), passenger waiting shelters, CTU conversions in various wards, beautification of the area opposite the crematorium, beautification of the Dhamani River, construction of the urban boundary entrance, park beautification, and paver block installations.

A new water tank has also been completed in Mahendra Ward, which will improve drinking water supply to the ward and surrounding areas. The council has focused on citizens' basic amenities, including water, roads, lighting, and sanitation.

Future Plans and Sports Facility Expansion

Under the upcoming development plans, there are proposals for 26 new works worth 11.40 crore rupees, which are expected to further enhance civic amenities in various parts of the city upon completion. The indoor stadium, to be constructed at the HV Kamath Stadium complex with an investment of 2.25 crore rupees, will provide local athletes with modern sports facilities, aiding in the development of sporting talent.

Additionally, a modern street lighting system from Kareli Basti to Safed Pul was also inaugurated, enhancing the safety and convenience of citizens commuting at night. The foundation stones for various schemes aim to accelerate the overall development of the urban area.

Foundation Stones Laid for Comprehensive Development

The Kareli Municipality has laid the foundation stones for several development works, costing 20.20 crore rupees, under various schemes with the objective of accelerating the comprehensive development of the urban area. Upon completion, these works will expand road networks, drainage systems, community halls, parks, and other essential basic amenities in the wards. This includes the construction of the Geeta Bhawan, community hall and park construction in Narsingh Ward, and RCC drain construction in Jaiprakash Ward, Ram Ward, Niranjan Ward, Radha Vallabh Ward, and Mahatma Gandhi Ward.

Various development works such as road surfacing, paver block installation, drain repair, and precast construction in Jaiprakash Ward are also part of this scheme. Currently, development works worth approximately 8 crore rupees are in progress.

Ongoing Development and Future Direction

Ongoing development projects, valued at approximately 8 crore rupees, include water supply and expansion under the Amrit 2.0 scheme, Dhamani River beautification, park and boundary wall construction in front of the girls' hostel in Jaiprakash Ward, and paver block road and drain repair in Mahadev Ward.

During the occasion, Municipal President Smt. Sushila Mamar stated that the council is continuously striving for the city's development and will prioritize construction and development works in all wards in accordance with citizens' needs in the future. She assured maximum utilization of resources.

Shri Prahlad Singh Patel, Minister of Panchayat and Rural Development and Labor of the Madhya Pradesh Government, congratulated the Municipal President, Vice President, and all members on successfully completing their four-year term. He also felicitated the President and Vice President with 'Saal-Shreephal' (a traditional offering).

The ceremony was attended by former State Minister Shri Jalam Singh Patel 'Munna Bhaiya', BJP District President Shri Ramsnehi Pathak, Municipal Vice President Smt. Anita Nema, all councilors, aldermen, district office bearers, Chief Municipal Officer Shrikant Pater, officers and employees of the Municipal Council, journalists, and a large number of city residents.
