A massive gathering welcomed the 121 km Kanwar Yatra led by Satyendra Singh Lodhi in Nohata, Damoh district, promoting social awareness.

Kanwar Yatra Arrives in Nohaata
The holy town of Nohaata in Madhya Pradesh's Damoh district witnessed a grand reception for the 121-kilometer-long Kanwar Yatra on August 24, 2026. The pilgrimage, led by Satyendra Singh Lodhi, younger brother of State Minister Dharmendra Singh Lodhi, saw thousands of devotees join on its fourth day. The procession, originating from Bhedaghat in Jabalpur, passed through various villages before reaching Nohaata.
Upon arrival in Nohaata, the Kanwar pilgrims were showered with flowers from bulldozers, a gesture of immense respect and welcome. This five-day spiritual journey is set to conclude with an 'Abhishek' (offering of water) to Lord Shiva at the Jageshwar Nath Dham in Bandakpur. The yatra, currently en route to its destination, is traversing different locations.
Community Feast and Yatra's Objectives
At the residence of Minister Lodhi in Nohaata, a community feast ('sahabhoj') was organized for all the participating Kanwar pilgrims. Devotees shared a collective meal, fostering a sense of unity and camaraderie. The yatra is designed to deliver a positive message to society, addressing several key areas.
The Kanwar Yatra has five primary objectives aimed at societal upliftment and awareness. These include promoting environmental conservation through tree plantation drives, distributing educational materials to students to encourage learning, conducting cleanliness campaigns, actively participating in cow protection and service, and running public awareness campaigns for de-addiction.
Promoting Social Awareness
Satyendra Singh Lodhi, younger brother of Dharmendra Singh Lodhi - the Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Culture, Tourism, Religious Trusts and Endowments in the Madhya Pradesh government and MLA from the Jabaera constituency - is at the helm of this significant pilgrimage. The journey is actively striving to spread awareness against various social evils as it progresses through communities.
