Kangana Ranaut Defends Ranveer Singh

Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut has come out in support of actor Ranveer Singh. Her statement follows a non-cooperation directive issued against the actor by the Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE).

Speaking in Mumbai at the trailer launch of her film Bharat Bhhagya Vidhaata, Ranaut shared that facing opposition is a natural part of achieving massive success in the industry.

"I’ve been banned by everybody. When your stature grows, you end up making enemies as well; it is impossible that you grow without making enemies. Now, Ranveer Singh should think about his stature because he has so many enemies, so it’s a good thing," Ranaut stated.

Overcoming Industry Obstacles

Ranaut urged Singh to view these hurdles as proof of his rising influence in Bollywood. She reflected on her own journey, noting that she is currently doing well despite past conflicts.

"When you move forward in life, many obstacles come your way, you can’t always have a smooth walk. There’s so much that has happened with me and today I’m doing well for myself, everything moving along smoothly. Eventually, it's all going to be fine," she added.

Ranaut's upcoming cinematic release, Bharat Bhhagya Vidhaata, is scheduled to hit theatres on June 12.

The Don 3 Project Dispute

The controversy escalated after Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani lodged a formal complaint against Singh with the IFTDA, which then transferred the case to the FWICE.

The producers claimed that over Rs 45 crore was already spent during the pre-production phase of Don 3, which has not yet started shooting.

According to the FWICE, the organization sent multiple notices to Singh, but received no response from the actor before initiating the non-cooperation order.

Delays and Franchise History

Media reports suggest Singh walked away from the movie due to script changes. However, Sidhwani and Akhtar alleged that the actor delayed the film multiple times before formally leaving in December 2025.

The film was intended to mark Akhtar's return to directing for the first time since 2011's Don 2, which starred Shah Rukh Khan.

A brief look at the history of the iconic franchise shows:

  • The original Don film was written by Javed Akhtar and Salim Khan.
  • Released in 1978, the original starred Amitabh Bachchan and Zeenat Aman.
  • The current reboot was designed to restart the franchise with a brand new lead actor.

What to Watch Next

Industry observers will watch to see if Ranveer Singh responds to the non-cooperation directive issued by the FWICE. Additionally, developments regarding the casting and future of the delayed Don 3 project remain highly anticipated. Finally, the box office performance of Kangana Ranaut’s Bharat Bhhagya Vidhaata will be closely monitored upon its release on June 12.
