Kaimeganj Celebrates Anant Chaturdashi: Torrent of Devotees for Ganesh Visarjan Despite Rain

Ganesh Mahotsav Concludes with Grand Visarjan in Kaimeganj

Farrukhabad, September 25, 2026 - The Ganesh Mahotsav concluded with devotion and enthusiasm in Kaimeganj, Farrukhabad, on the occasion of Anant Chaturdashi. A colossal gathering of devotees thronged the grand processions organized to immerse the idols of Lord Ganesha from the town and surrounding rural areas.

Undeterred by the torrential downpour, the zeal and faith of the devotees remained undiminished. They continued their journey to bid farewell to their beloved Bappa, chanting 'Ganpati Bappa Morya'. Devotees from various localities like Mohalla Jheel, Patvangaali, Ghasia Chilouli, Uliapur, and Shiv Mandir Lal Kua, as well as from rural areas such as Jhabupur, Ludhaiya, and Jaura, participated with their Ganesh idols.

Processions Filled with Devotion and Celebration

During the processions, devotees showered 'abeer-gulal' (colored powders) and chanted Bappa's name as they moved forward. At various points along the route, the processions were welcomed with showers of flowers. In Uliapur, youth displayed exceptional enthusiasm by forming a human chain to break a matka (earthen pot) suspended at a height of fifteen feet, which became a focal point of attraction.

Secured Immersion at Dhai Ghat

The immersion procession proceeded towards Dhai Ghat. Processions from various locations converged at Pul Galib Tiraha, from where all devotees collectively departed towards the banks of the Ganga River at Dhai Ghat in Shamshabad. The administration had made extensive security arrangements to ensure a peaceful immersion.

Under strict police surveillance, all processions reached Dhai Ghat. The significant presence of women, children, and youth created a deeply devotional atmosphere. Upon reaching the immersion site, devotees respectfully flowed the idols of Lord Ganesha into the Ganga River following traditional rituals.

The administration had made special arrangements at the ghat to ensure devotees did not face any inconvenience. With the immersion of the idols, the multi-day Ganesh Mahotsav formally concluded. Devotees bid an emotional farewell to Bappa, wishing for his return next year.
