World Malaria Day Observed Across J&K
World Malaria Day was observed across Jammu and Kashmir under the supervision of Secretary Health & Medical Education M. Raju, and with the guidance of Mission Director NHM Akriti Sagar.
The efforts included support from Director Health Services Jammu Dr. Abdul Hamid Zargar and teamwork from staff under State Malariologist Dr. Ratesh Khullar.
Rath Yatra and Awareness Campaigns
A Rath Yatra, organized by the State Malariologist's office, highlighted this year’s theme: "Driven to End Malaria: Now We Can. Now We Must."
The Rath Yatra aimed to raise awareness about malaria prevention, control, and elimination.
"Coordinated efforts from all stakeholders shall pave the way towards elimination of malaria with newer tools and windows of opportunities," said DHSJ Dr. Abdul Hamid Zargar.

Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) material was published in leading UT and local newspapers.
An interview was broadcast on Akashwani Jammu. An audio spot was played throughout the day on Akashwani Jammu and other FM channels.
Hospital and Community Engagement
World Malaria Day was observed at several hospitals:
- Provincial Government Hospital Gandhi Nagar
- Government Rajiv Gandhi Hospital
- LRPU Gangyal
- Government Hospital Sarwal
At these locations, malaria workers and hospital staff spread awareness about prevention, control, and elimination of malaria.
The day was also observed at district and block headquarters with school participation and IEC material distribution. Social media platforms were also used for the campaign.

RBSK teams and School Health teams were involved in the campaign.
