Jawed Habib, Son Face 32 FIRs in Alleged Bitcoin Investment Fraud in UP

Celebrity hairstylist Jawed Habib, his son Anos Habib, and an associate are under investigation following 32 FIRs filed in Sambhal district, Uttar Pradesh, for allegedly defrauding investors through a Bitcoin investment scheme promising unusually high returns.

Alleged Investment Scam Details

According to police reports and statements to PTI, the accused allegedly collected ₹5–7 lakh from each investor under the banner of Follicle Global Company (FLC), promising returns up to ten times the investment. However, even after over two years, investors have reportedly received no returns.

Superintendent of Police Krishna Kumar Vishnoi said, “They took substantial amounts from each investor, claiming high returns, but none of the investors received their money after two-and-a-half years.” Preliminary investigations estimate the total alleged fraud at ₹5–7 crore.

Legal Proceedings and Lookout Notice

The Sambhal police have also issued a lookout notice to prevent the accused from leaving India. On Sunday, Habib’s lawyer, Pawan Kumar, met local police citing health issues and the recent loss of Habib’s father. Despite this, police insisted that Habib must appear in person to record his statement.

Raia Satti police station in-charge Govind Kumar confirmed, “After a detailed investigation, 32 FIRs have been registered against Jawed Habib, his son, and an associate named Saiful. Notices have been issued to appear for questioning, and Habib must record his statement personally.”

Lawyer’s Statement

Habib’s counsel emphasized cooperation with authorities, stating, “Our client has suffered a personal loss recently and has some heart issues, which prevented him from appearing in person. We are fully cooperating and have full faith in the judiciary and the Constitution. We trust that the police will act fairly.”

Kumar added, “The allegations are under investigation. We are ready to cooperate at every stage of the process.”
