Inland Terminal Facilities Under Scrutiny

Shri Kumar Purushottam, Commissioner and Managing Director of the Madhya Pradesh State Agricultural Marketing Board, conducted a comprehensive inspection of the DP World Inland Terminal located in Pawar Kheda, Itarsi Mandi area, on Saturday, August 29, 2026. He gained detailed insights into the terminal's operational efficiency, the facilities available to farmers and traders, and arrangements related to goods transportation.

Detailed Operational Review

During the inspection, Shri Purushottam closely observed the terminal premises. He reviewed the facilities for farmers and traders, the movement of goods, and the systems in operation at various levels. As part of this, the railway rack point situated within the terminal complex was also inspected.

Railway Rack Point Operations Assessed

At the railway rack point, the Commissioner understood the processes for loading and unloading goods. He inquired from officials about the origins of goods arriving at the terminal and their destinations. Shri Purushottam also gathered information regarding the time taken for the entire process, from the arrival of goods to loading, unloading, and reaching their final destinations.

Emphasis on Resource Optimization and Efficiency

The Commissioner and Managing Director placed particular emphasis on ensuring the optimal utilization of available resources and facilities at the terminal. He instructed the concerned officials to make existing arrangements more effective, smooth, and convenient, thereby preventing undue delays in goods transportation processes and ensuring maximum utilization of available resources.

System Improvement and Future Development

He also issued instructions to improve systems where necessary and emphasized developing operational processes in line with future requirements. During the inspection, officials provided Shri Kumar Purushottam with detailed information on the terminal's operational management and various aspects of goods transportation.

Also present during this significant inspection were Shri Madhuakar Pawar, Superintending Engineer of the Mandi Board, Shri Suresh Chandra Goyal, Executive Engineer of the Bhopal Division, along with other relevant officials and staff. Representing DP World were Manager-Operations Shri Pradeep Sharma and Manager-Civil Shri Gyan Prakash Pandey.
