Surprise Inspections Uncover Irregularities in Guna Anganwadi Centers

In accordance with the directives of Collector Kishore Kumar Kanyal, administrative officials conducted extensive inspections of various Anganwadi centers across Guna district on September 10, 2026. The inspections meticulously reviewed critical arrangements including center operations, sanitation, child attendance, the quality of nutritional meals, and pre-school activities.

Any irregularities or shortcomings identified during the inspections resulted in immediate improvement directives being issued to the concerned staff. This series of surprise inspections aimed to assess the on-ground implementation of child development schemes and introduce necessary improvements.

Sanitation and Nutrition Under Scrutiny in Aron Project

Sub-Divisional Officer Manjusha Khatri and Project Officer Yogita Bairagi jointly inspected Anganwadi centers under the Aron project. They reviewed centers located in Khajuri and Ward No. 11.

The center in Ward No. 11 was found to be in satisfactory condition with 10 children present. The quality of food and take-home rations provided to the children was also examined and found to be in line with prescribed standards. At the Khajuri center, strict adherence to special sanitation protocols was emphasized due to concerns over cleanliness.

Additionally, officials stressed the proper utilization of available teaching materials and sports equipment to promote the holistic development of the children.

Officials Express Disappointment Over Poor Management in Guna Rural Area

District Program Officer Dinesh Kumar Chandel and Project Officer Deepa Sharma inspected Anganwadi centers operating under the Guna Rural project. Officials expressed strong dissatisfaction regarding severe cleanliness issues and extremely low child attendance at the Khejra-1 and Karod-1 centers.

They instructed the concerned workers to ensure the regular and smooth functioning of the centers. In contrast, the Tuesday center was found to be in satisfactory condition, with the worker engaged in providing pre-school education to the children.

Strict Action for Employee Absence and Quality Deficiencies

Assistant Director Rishu Suman visited Anganwadi centers in the Miyana sector. At the Dungasara-1 and Dungasara-2 centers, workers were found absent without prior notification, leading to significant displeasure from the official.

In response, directives were issued to immediately issue show-cause notices to both absent workers. Regarding the low attendance at the Dungasara Hada center, the worker was instructed to actively work towards extending the benefits of government schemes to a wider range of beneficiaries.

At the Chak Madhopur center, while educational activities were being conducted, the absence of breakfast and lunch arrangements drew displeasure. The quality of under-construction Anganwadi buildings in the Sahariya settlement of Chak Madhopur was also inspected to ensure better future facilities.

A notice was also ordered for the absent assistant at the Bhadoura-2 center, who was also found to be absent without informing.

Follow-up Actions and Future Plans

At the conclusion of the inspections, officials instructed Project Officers and Supervisors to ensure regular future inspections of Anganwadi centers. This measure aims to maintain consistency and continuous improvement in the functioning of these facilities.

This initiative is considered a significant step towards the effective implementation of government schemes related to child development and ensuring that beneficiaries receive their rightful benefits.
