iQOO 15R launch confirmed for India, Amazon sale teased as flagship-rival specs surface
  • What happened: iQOO has officially confirmed the iQOO 15R for India, teasing its design and performance focus ahead of launch.

  • Why it matters now: The phone is expected to debut with near-flagship hardware, shaking up the premium Android segment early February 2026.

  • What changes for people: Buyers may get top-tier performance, a massive battery, and ultra-fast charging without paying full flagship prices.

  • Who is affected: Indian smartphone buyers, especially gamers and power users shopping on Amazon.

iQOO is preparing to expand its 15 series in India with the upcoming iQOO 15R, positioning it as a performance-first smartphone for 2026. The company has begun official teasers, confirming both the India launch and Amazon availability, signalling an aggressive push in the competitive premium market.

Teaser hints at design and performance focus

The teaser was shared by iQOO India CEO Nipun Marya, carrying the tagline “Power that fits just right”. The visual reveals a checkered rear panel, metal frame, and a dual-camera layout.

Industry watchers note the design closely matches the iQOO Z11 Turbo, launched recently in China, strengthening speculation that the India-bound 15R is a rebranded version with local tweaks.

Expected specifications place it near flagship territory

Based on certification listings and China-market hardware, the iQOO 15R is expected to feature:

  • 6.59-inch AMOLED display with 1.5K resolution and 144Hz refresh rate

  • Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chipset

  • 200MP primary camera, 8MP ultra-wide, 32MP front camera

  • 7,600mAh battery with 100W fast charging

  • IP68 and IP69 dust and water resistance

  • Ultrasonic in-display fingerprint sensor

If confirmed, these specifications would place the phone firmly between upper mid-range and flagship devices, an increasingly competitive space in India.

Certification trail adds credibility

The device has already appeared in multiple regulatory databases. A Bluetooth SIG listing earlier this month confirmed the iQOO 15R name, while the same model number previously surfaced on the IMEI database under the name iQOO Neo 11.

Experts believe the late-stage rebranding reflects iQOO’s strategy to streamline its premium lineup rather than a change in hardware.

How it stacks up against rivals

With the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5, the iQOO 15R is expected to compete directly with devices like the OnePlus 15R and Motorola Signature series, both of which target performance-driven users.

Analysts say iQOO’s edge could lie in its battery capacity and charging speed, while rivals may still appeal to users prioritising camera consistency, cleaner software, and longer update support.

Pricing will be the decisive factor. If iQOO keeps the 15R closer to the upper mid-range, it could emerge as one of the strongest value propositions of early 2026.

India launch timeline and availability

According to company signals and retail sources, the iQOO 15R is expected to launch in India in February 2026. Sales will take place via Amazon India and the iQOO India online store, with the exact launch date to be announced soon.

Why this launch matters now

India’s smartphone market is seeing rising demand for performance-centric phones that balance power, battery life, and pricing. The iQOO 15R could appeal to users upgrading from older flagships or premium mid-range devices, especially gamers and heavy multitaskers.

If priced aggressively, the phone may force competitors to rethink their early-2026 strategies.
