Farrukhabad | October 1, 2026 - On the occasion of the International Day of Older Persons, the Social Welfare Department organized a special program at the Old Age Home in Muhammadabad, Farrukhabad. The primary objective of this event was to promote respect for the elderly in society and strengthen the bond between different generations.

Mithilesh Agarwal, former member of the State Women's Commission, attended as the chief guest. She highlighted the experiences and contributions of the elderly to society. A particularly moving moment occurred when students from the Government Ashram Paddhati School read out affectionate letters they had written to their grandparents.

Letters Bridge Generations

The heartfelt letters, read aloud to the elders present at the old age home, fostered a strong sense of belonging and connection. This initiative by the students conveyed a powerful message of solidarity, assuring the elders that they are not forgotten and that society stands with them like a family.

In these letters, the children shared details about their daily lives, school activities, and expressed their love and respect for the elders, bringing a vibrant atmosphere to the old age home. The children's efforts were a testament to the enduring bond between generations.

Elders Honored and Inspired

The formal inauguration of the ceremony, which included honoring and inspiring the elders, began with a lamp-lighting ceremony led by Mithilesh Agarwal, along with Mahendra Rajput, District President of Kayamganj, and Shalini, District Social Welfare Officer.
