In a significant step towards bolstering strategic and bilateral relations between India and Africa, India's Minister of State for External Affairs, Kirtivardhan Singh, concluded an important official visit to the West African nation of Côte d'Ivoire.

The highlight of this visit was his presence as the 'Guest of Honour' at the 66th National Day celebrations of Côte d'Ivoire, held in the country's capital, Abidjan. This invitation symbolises the deepening friendly relations between India and Côte d'Ivoire.

National Day Parade and Bilateral Discussions

During this high-level visit, Minister of State Singh observed the participation of a marching contingent from the Indian Armed Forces in the National Day parade. This participation was a demonstration of military cooperation and goodwill between the two nations.

During his visit, Singh held detailed discussions on various aspects of bilateral relations with the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Côte d'Ivoire. Additionally, he met with the President of the Republic of Côte d'Ivoire, where measures to further strengthen relations between the two countries were deliberated upon.

Focus on Economic and Defence Partnerships

The discussions primarily focused on crucial topics such as economic and development partnership, defence and security cooperation, and promoting mutual relations between the citizens of both countries. Both sides reiterated their firm commitment to further deepen and expand the multifaceted India-Côte d'Ivoire partnership.

Discussions also covered ongoing development projects in Côte d'Ivoire by India and future prospects, aimed at further strengthening economic ties between the two nations.

Engaging with the Indian Community

Another significant aspect of the visit was Minister of State Singh's direct interaction with the Indian community residing in Abidjan. He reiterated the Indian government's unwavering commitment to the welfare, security, and well-being of Indian citizens living abroad.
