AMM Nasir Uddin, Chief Election Commissioner, will administer the oath to Tarique Rahman.

Rahman is the chairman of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP).

The Swearing-in Ceremony and Rahman's Return

The ceremony will take place at the Southern Plaza of the Bangladesh Parliament House.

Rahman succeeds an interim government that had been in place since August 2024, following a student-led uprising that ended Sheikh Hasina's rule.

Rahman's success marks a significant comeback after 17 years in exile in Britain. He returned to Bangladesh in December.

Election Results

The BNP alliance won 212 seats in the recent election.

The Jamaat-e-Islami-led alliance secured 77 seats, according to the Electoral Commission.
