Hyderabad Gets Double-Decker Corridor
Telangana Roads and Buildings Minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy announced the construction of a ₹941 crore double-decker elevated corridor.
This project aims to alleviate traffic congestion between LB Nagar and Hayathnagar, one of Hyderabad's busiest routes.
The 5.5-kilometre stretch is expected to significantly benefit around 1.2 million residents across 70 colonies.
Funding and Approvals
The project will be jointly funded by the central and state governments.
The central government will contribute ₹741 crore, while the state government will provide ₹200 crore.
The proposal has already received central approval. The tendering process is expected to begin within six months.
More Infrastructure Projects
A 1.2-kilometre double-decker flyover will also be constructed on National Highway 65.
This flyover will connect Madinaguda and BHEL, further improving traffic flow along the Pune–Hyderabad corridor.
The minister also unveiled plans for a major elevated corridor from Mannanur to Srisailam, estimated at ₹7,600 crore.
Mannanur-Srisailam Corridor
A six-lane road has already been developed from Tukkuguda to Mannanur.
A Detailed Project Report (DPR) has been prepared for the proposed 52-kilometre elevated stretch up to Srisailam.
Road Development Under HAM
The state is undertaking road development projects worth ₹20,000 crore under the Hybrid Annuity Model (HAM).
Tenders have been issued for 441 works across 34 packages, covering over 6,092 kilometres at a cost of ₹13,006 crore.
Evaluation of tenders for 24 packages is currently underway.
The process for the remaining 10 packages is expected to be completed within a week.
"These projects represent a significant investment in Telangana's infrastructure and will greatly improve connectivity and ease of travel for our citizens," the minister stated during the announcement.
