Hugh Jackman Hints He’s “Never Saying Never” on Returning as Wolverine

Hugh Jackman has reignited speculation about reprising Wolverine in future Marvel projects following his appearance in Deadpool & Wolverine. Speaking on The Graham Norton Show, Jackman left the door open for further MCU appearances:

“I am never saying ‘never’ again… I did mean it until the day I changed my mind.”

Jackman, who famously retired the character after Logan (2017), acknowledged that his initial decision was sincere. But the success of his recent return, coupled with fan enthusiasm, has him reconsidering.

“I’ve done ten films now, so I think they have enough for an AI version of me!” Jackman joked.

Influence of Deadpool & Multiverse Stories

Jackman credited seeing the first Deadpool film with Ryan Reynolds as a key factor in returning. He personally reached out to Reynolds before contacting his agent, saying:

“I had to ring my agent and said, ‘Oh, by the way, I have just committed to a movie.’”

Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige previously advised against Jackman’s return, praising the ending of Logan as iconic. Yet, with Marvel’s multiverse expansion, legacy characters like Wolverine could reappear in films such as Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars.

Feige confirmed ongoing talks:

“Marvel has been in discussions with Hugh Jackman and Ryan Reynolds about a return.”

While no official announcement has been made, Jackman’s comments and multiverse storytelling have fans excited about the possibility of Wolverine returning to the MCU.
