Major Crackdown in Bareilly District

As part of a special campaign to curb drug trafficking, a significant operation was conducted in the Bareilly district. The Anti-Narcotics Task Force (ANTF) of the Bareilly unit, in a joint effort with the Sirohi police, raided a house in Alampur Kot village.

The raid successfully busted an illegal heroin manufacturing factory. During this crucial operation, three accused individuals were apprehended, and a substantial quantity of narcotic chemicals and finished heroin was seized. According to police information, a total of 4.515 kilograms of manufactured and semi-manufactured heroin were recovered.

Seized Materials and Estimated Value

In addition to the heroin, 8.560 kilograms of sodium carbonate and 1.694 kilograms of acetic anhydride, lethal chemicals used in heroin production, were also confiscated. The market value of the seized heroin and chemicals is estimated to be around 10 crore rupees, indicating the large-scale operation of this syndicate.

Arrests and Interrogation Reveal Network

The arrested individuals have been identified as Ram Bharose, Vireesh, and Brijesh. Preliminary interrogations revealed that these three had been involved in producing heroin at this location for a considerable time by mixing chemicals. They also disclosed that the raw materials for heroin production were supplied by an individual based in Jharkhand.

The prepared heroin was then distributed to retailers for sale in the market, with the profits being shared among themselves. The police not only seized the narcotics and chemicals but also confiscated other equipment used in the manufacturing process, including a gas cylinder, an electronic scale, various utensils, and three mobile phones.

Legal Proceedings Initiated

Information obtained from the mobile phones is expected to be crucial for further investigation. In relation to this, a case has been registered under various stringent sections of the NDPS (Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substance) Act, bearing crime number 355/2026.

The operation, which concluded on October 22, 2026, saw significant participation from the Badagaon outpost police of Sirohi station and the ANTF team. The police are conducting intensive interrogations of the three arrested individuals and are undertaking a detailed investigation to identify other members of the syndicate and their entire network. Further legal procedures will be completed based on the findings of this ongoing investigation.
