Harleen Deol’s Skincare Question Leaves PM Modi and Team India in Laughter

A light-hearted moment stole the spotlight during the Indian women’s cricket team’s meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, when batter Harleen Deol playfully asked the Prime Minister about his skincare routine, leaving everyone in stitches.

The interaction, held to celebrate India’s historic Women’s ODI World Cup win, began on a formal note with PM Modi congratulating the players for their grit and unity. But Harleen’s spontaneous question quickly changed the tone.

“Sir, your skin is always glowing. Can you please tell me what is your skincare routine?” she asked, drawing laughter from teammates and officials alike.

A smiling Modi replied, “I do not think about all that.” Another team member chimed in, “Sir, it’s the love of millions of this country!” — prompting even more laughter across the room.

Head coach Amol Muzumdar joined the fun, joking, “As you can see sir, these are the personalities I have to deal with — they’ve made my hair go white!”

Later, in a viral moment captured online, Modi added, “It’s been 25 years as head of government; it’s the blessings of the people that keep me glowing.”

‘No Photo With King Charles — We’re Saving That for Modi’

Muzumdar also recalled a story from India’s England tour, when the squad was invited for a photo with King Charles. With space limited to 20 people per frame, the support staff jokingly declined, saying they were “saving the group photo for the day we meet the Prime Minister after winning the World Cup.”

Vice-captain Smriti Mandhana reflected that the team’s World Cup triumph was “about sparking a revolution in women’s sports,” not just lifting a trophy. Prime Minister Modi echoed that sentiment, praising the players for inspiring a new generation of athletes.
