In a deeply humanitarian act, Gwalior Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Dharmveer Singh saved the life of a 16-year-old girl admitted to Jaya Arogya Hospital late last night. When an immediate need arose for the rare 'A Negative' blood group, the SSP himself rushed to the hospital to donate blood.

Urgent Need for Rare Blood Group

The girl, admitted to the pediatric ward, was in a critical condition and required immediate dialysis. This necessitated an urgent supply of 'A Negative' blood. Due to the late hour, the rare blood group was not available through the blood bank or other contacts, posing a significant time challenge for the doctors.

SSP's Swift Response

As the Dean of the Medical College, Dr. R.K.S. Dhakad, and hospital doctors discussed the girl's deteriorating condition, it was discovered that SSP Dharmveer Singh also has an 'A Negative' blood group. Doctors hesitantly contacted the SSP and informed him about the severity of the situation.

Understanding the gravity of the matter, SSP Dharmveer Singh, without a moment's delay, proceeded directly to the blood bank at Jaya Arogya Hospital and donated his blood. His prompt contribution enabled the girl's treatment to begin on time, saving her life.

News of this sensitive step by SSP Dharmveer Singh, originally from Mathura, spread quickly, earning him widespread praise across Gwalior city. Social media users also lauded his action profusely.

The girl's family, overcome with emotion, expressed their gratitude to the SSP, stating that such sensitivity hidden behind the uniform can resolve half of society's problems on its own.

Dean of GR Medical College, Dr. R.K.S. Dhakad, described the SSP's action as an example, noting that his timely intervention averted a critical delay in the girl's treatment. Regarding the incident, SSP Dharmveer Singh stated, "When I learned that the girl's condition was critical and that 'A-Negative' blood was unavailable anywhere at night, I decided to go to the hospital immediately without thinking. This is not a favor, but my duty towards humanity."
