Extensive Preparations Underway for Health Initiative
Preparations are in full swing for the upcoming Guru Gorakhnath Health Service Journey 7.0, organized by the National Medicos Organization, Awadh Province. Scheduled from November 21 to 24, 2026, this significant health campaign aims to deliver quality medical facilities to over 300,000 individuals residing in approximately 300 villages across seven districts of Uttar Pradesh bordering India and Nepal.
A detailed action plan for this massive health outreach was finalized at a coordination meeting held recently at Nidan Hospital in Balrampur. This year's journey will encompass the districts of Pilibhit, Lakhimpur Kheri, Bahraich, Balrampur, Shravasti, Siddharthnagar, and Maharajganj, all situated along the India-Nepal border.
Focus on Remote and Tribal Regions
The primary objective of the journey is to ensure access to healthcare in the remote and inaccessible areas of these districts, with a special focus on regions with a significant Tharu tribal population. These are areas where access to medical facilities has traditionally been a major challenge. Free health camps will be organized to provide targeted attention to these communities.
Nationwide Participation of Medical Professionals
Prof. ML B Bhatt, Chairman of the Guru Gorakhnath Seva Nyas and the journey, stated at the meeting that approximately 1500 specialist doctors and 150 reputed medical institutions from across the country are expected to participate in this campaign. This large contingent of medical professionals will provide free medical consultations, diagnostic tests, and essential medicines to the needy in these border regions.
Prof. Bhatt further elaborated that the journey's aim extends beyond providing immediate medical services; it also seeks to promote health awareness in these areas and take a step forward towards long-term health solutions.
Specific Focus on Balrampur District
Ram Kripal Shukla, the District Coordinator for the journey, announced that in Balrampur district alone, approximately 70 villages across four development blocks have been targeted. A significant population of the Tharu community resides in these villages, often facing difficulties in accessing healthcare services. Patients will undergo thorough health check-ups at these special camps, receiving appropriate treatment and crucial health advice.
The meeting involved extensive discussions on deploying medical teams, ensuring adequate supply of medicines, and effectively utilizing local resources for the successful organization of these camps. Emphasis was placed on streamlining the patient registration to medicine distribution process for the mega health camp to be held in Balrampur.
Organizing Structure and Key Participants
Various task forces have been constituted to ensure the success of the journey, including departments for accommodation, logistics, transportation, medicine supply, publicity, and volunteer management. The organizers stressed that this initiative is not merely about organizing medical camps but a comprehensive effort to strengthen healthcare accessibility in border areas and foster a spirit of social cooperation.
The meeting was attended by several dignitaries, including Prof. ML B Bhatt, Director of Kalyan Singh Cancer Institute; Dr. Dhirendra Pratap Singh 'Dhiru', Trustee; Saumya Agarwal, Regional Sanghchalak of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh; Praveen, Regional Pracharak; Jitendra, District Pracharak; Prof. JP Pandey, Vice-President of Seema Jagran Manch; and Dr. Sharad Pratap Singh. A call was made to all present officials and workers to collaborate and work with dedication to make the seventh edition of the Guru Gorakhnath Health Service Journey more successful and historic than its predecessors.
Clear instructions have been issued to all relevant parties to complete their preparations in a timely manner for the successful implementation of the campaign.
