Gangland Violence Erupts in Gurgaon

In a dramatic turn of events, the Gurgaon Police Crime Branch engaged in a fierce gun battle that claimed the lives of four alleged shooters linked to fugitive gangster Deepak Nandal.

The encounter, described as one of the most sensational in Haryana recently, occurred in Sushant Lok Phase-2 on Thursday evening. Over 60 rounds were reportedly fired.

Extortion Bid Escalates to Deadly Showdown

The confrontation stemmed from an extortion attempt targeting a 36-year-old businessman, who had been threatened for multiple crores. The gangsters allegedly fired around 40 rounds at the businessman's residence.

Police, acting on prior intelligence, arrived as the firing was ongoing, leading to a direct encounter. The suspects, traveling in a rented black Scorpio SUV, refused to surrender and opened fire on the approaching Crime Branch teams.

Police Retaliate in Self-Defence

After issuing warnings and firing shots in the air, police returned fire in self-defence when the accused continued their barrage and attempted to escape. Three Crime Branch personnel sustained bullet injuries and are under medical supervision.

The five alleged shooters were rushed to a hospital, where four were declared dead. The fifth remains in critical condition. Police recovered five pistols, including three foreign-made weapons, from the scene.

Upscale Neighborhood in Fear

The businessman, his wife, and domestic staff were inside the house during the attack but fortunately remained unharmed. However, bullets shattered windows and damaged walls, causing panic among residents.

Senior officers, including DCP (Crime) Hitesh Yadav and DCP (East) Sandeep Kumar, visited the scene. Forensic teams have collected evidence, and a case has been registered.
