Guna's Shubham Gaur to officiate in international basketball championship in Maldives

In a proud moment for the Guna district of Madhya Pradesh, basketball referee Shubham Gaur has been appointed as an international official for a prestigious championship to be held in the Maldives. This selection by the Basketball Federation of India (BFI) is a significant achievement for the state, as Gaur is the sole individual chosen from Madhya Pradesh for this role.

The international competition, organized at the request of the Maldives Basketball Association, will take place in the Maldivian capital, Malé, from August 26 to September 12, 2026. It will feature the School Edition of the Maldives Junior Championship for Under-14 and Under-16 boys.

International Representation

Shubham Gaur, currently associated with the District Basketball Association of Guna, has been specially deputed by the BFI for this crucial competition. The selection, made at the special request of the Maldives Basketball Association, highlights Gaur's international recognition and capabilities.

The District Basketball Association of Guna's secretary, Atul Lumba, confirmed the appointment, stating that BFI Secretary General Kulwinder Singh Gill had issued the appointment letter. This junior championship in Malé is specifically for boys in the Under-14 and Under-16 age categories.

The District Basketball Association of Guna and its members, including Manoj Sharma, Sachin Saxena, Rahul Agrawal, Raman Sharma, Aryan Sharma, Gaurav Prajapati, Chandu Kevat, and Kamal Singh Bhadauria, extended their warm wishes to Gaur.
