Guna Police Uncover Counterfeit Note Gang, One Arrested
Guna Police have busted a major conspiracy to circulate counterfeit currency, arresting one individual and seizing 47 fake notes.

Counterfeit Note Ring Dismantled in Guna
The Guna Police have successfully dismantled a significant operation aimed at circulating counterfeit currency in the market, leading to the arrest of one accused. Acting under the guidance of Superintendent of Police Hitika Vasal, the Kotwali Police apprehended Chandresh Ahirwar red-handed on the night of October 3, 2026, at the Punjabi Dhaba near the bus stand, attempting to pass off fake currency.
A total of 47 counterfeit notes were recovered from the accused. Of these, 46 were denomination of ₹100. The incident unfolded when Chandresh Ahirwar presented a ₹100 note for payment after dining at the dhaba. Suspicion arose regarding the authenticity of the note, prompting the dhaba owner to immediately alert the police.
Suspect Apprehended with Fake Currency
A team from the Kotwali Police station swiftly arrived at the scene and conducted a search of the suspect. During the search, an additional 46 fake ₹100 notes were discovered on the accused, bringing the total recovered counterfeit notes to 47.
The arrested individual has been identified in preliminary questioning as Chandresh, son of Rambabu Ahirwar, a resident of Gram Barkhedi Gird. A case has been registered against the accused at the Kotwali police station under Crime No. 606/26 and Section 180 BNS (Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita) of the Indian Penal Code.
Investigation Underway to Identify Network
This action is being hailed as an effective step by the police in curbing the spread of counterfeit notes. The police are now actively searching for a wider network involved in this operation. To facilitate this, accused Chandresh Ahirwar has been taken into remand for extensive interrogation.
The primary objective of the authorities is to pinpoint the location of the counterfeit note printing and apprehend other individuals involved in this illegal trade. The police team, led by Station House Officer Rajkumar Sharma, played a commendable role in this arrest. Currently, the police are engrossed in the investigation and are making efforts to apprehend other members of the gang.
