Guna Police Solves Rs 1.47 Crore Theft Case in 6 Days, Arrests Two

Major Breakthrough in Property Crime Under 'Zero Tolerance' Policy

In a significant success aligned with its 'zero tolerance' policy towards property-related crimes, the Madhya Pradesh Police have cracked a major theft case. Guna Police successfully uncovered a multi-lakh rupee theft that occurred in the village of Chak Churela, Fatehgarh police station area, within just six days, leading to the arrest of two accused individuals.

The police recovered gold jewelry valued at approximately Rs 1.47 crore from the possession of the arrested individuals. Efforts are underway to identify and apprehend the remaining accused involved in the incident, with special police teams actively pursuing leads.

This remarkable achievement is a testament to the meticulously planned strategy, excellent coordination, and continuous field operations undertaken by the police teams under the leadership of Superintendent of Police Mrs. Hitika Vasal, Additional Superintendent of Police Mr. Prashant Singh Suman, and SDOPI Guna Mr. Vivek Asthana.

Details of the Theft and Initial Investigation

According to information regarding the theft and the initial investigation, unidentified miscreants broke into the house of Mr. Babulal Meena in Chak Churela village during the intervening night of August 2-3, 2026. They stole a safe and a motorcycle.

The safe contained approximately 2 to 2.5 kilograms of gold jewelry, 3 kilograms of silver ornaments, and Rs 11.50 lakh in cash. A case was immediately registered at the Fatehgarh police station, and a special investigation team was formed to initiate swift action.

Successful Use of Scientific and Technical Investigation

Despite the absence of CCTV cameras at the scene of the crime, the police remained undeterred. They effectively employed scientific and technical investigation methods, seeking assistance from fingerprint experts and the dog squad, and meticulously analyzing technical evidence.

Furthermore, a robust informant network was developed. Through continuous field operations, intensive interrogations, and close analysis of information received at various levels, the identities of all accused were confirmed.

Arrests and Recovery of Property

The police conducted coordinated operations across various districts of Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan. Consequently, on August 8, they succeeded in arresting the two main accused.

During preliminary interrogation, the accused confessed to committing the theft along with their associates. Following their leads, the police recovered gold jewelry estimated to be worth approximately Rs 1.48 crore. Efforts are currently ongoing to apprehend the remaining accomplices and recover the stolen property.
