Major Action Against Illicit Liquor Trade in Guna
In a significant crackdown on the illegal liquor trade in Guna district, the Dharnavada police station has apprehended an accused carrying 74 liters of illicit liquor. The smuggler's motorcycle has also been seized by the authorities. Additionally, it was revealed that the arrested individual had a standing warrant issued by the Raghougarh court in a 2019 case, which had been pending for a considerable time.
Acting on the directives of Superintendent of Police Hitika Vasal, continuous efforts are being made to curb the illegal liquor business within the district. Following a tip-off received on October 5, 2026, regarding an individual with a consignment of illicit liquor near the Duhavad Road bridge, a police team was formed.
Liquor and Motorcycle Seized, Case Registered Against Accused
Under the guidance of Additional Superintendent of Police Prashant Singh Suman and SDOP Deepa Dodve, a team led by Station House Officer Ruhil Sharma promptly cordoned off the area. They successfully apprehended Vrindavan son of Lakhan Pardhi, who was riding a Hero Splendor motorcycle bearing registration number MP 08 MT 7156.
A search of the accused and his motorcycle yielded a seizure of a total of 74 liters of hand-distilled illicit liquor stored in two plastic cans. The police confiscated both the illegal liquor and the motorcycle used in the smuggling operation on the spot. A case has been registered against the accused, Vrindavan Pardhi, at the Dharnavada police station under Section 34(2) of the Excise Act.
Accused's Criminal Record and Pending Warrant
Preliminary investigations also uncovered that the 25-year-old accused, Vrindavan Pardhi, has a prior criminal record. He was absconding in another case registered under the Excise Act in 2019, which led to the Raghougarh court issuing a permanent warrant against him. The police have ensured the necessary legal procedures for the execution of this warrant are completed.
The successful operation involved the commendable efforts of Sub-Inspector Ruhil Sharma, Assistant Sub-Inspector Ashok Nidaniya, Head Constable Omkant Khatik, and Constables Rakesh, Raghukul, Satyendra, and Vineet Lodhi. The police stated that this action serves as a clear warning to other active liquor smugglers in the district.
