Several eateries and hotels located on A.B. Road were inspected unannounced, revealing serious shortcomings.
During this operation, one hotel was fined ₹6,000, while food samples were collected from various locations for testing in Bhopal. This campaign is being conducted across the district under the directives of Collector Kishor Kumar Kanyal and on the initiative of the Food and Drug Administration, Bhopal, to ensure purity and safety standards.
Jam Jam Hotel Penalized for Poor Sanitation
A thorough inspection of Jam Jam Hotel, Punjabi Dhaba, and Radha Ki Rasoi eateries was conducted by the Food Safety Officer and Municipal team. Extensive unhygiene was discovered at Jam Jam Hotel, directly violating food safety standards. Consequently, the Municipal team imposed a penalty of ₹6,000 on the hotel operator.
Additionally, the Food Safety Department issued a corrective notice to the hotel operator. Samples of vegetable gravy and biryani were also collected from the hotel for testing. Notices were also issued to other establishments, and samples were taken from them.
Food Samples Sent for Testing, Operations Continue
Apart from Jam Jam Hotel, samples of dal and flour were collected from Radha Ki Rasoi eatery during the inspection. The department has issued a notice to the operator of this eatery for necessary improvements. Punjabi Dhaba was also inspected, though detailed information is not yet available.
All collected food samples have been sent to the State Food Testing Laboratory in Bhopal for quality and purity checks. Further action will be determined once the reports for these samples are received. The administration has clarified that this inspection drive against adulteration will continue in the district to ensure the public receives safe and quality food.
Warning Issued to Other Operators
This action by the Food Safety Department serves as a clear warning to other eateries, restaurants, and hotel operators in the city. The administration has conveyed a message that they must strictly adhere to hygiene, food quality, and prescribed standards, or face similar unannounced inspections and strict actions in the future.
Officials stated that tampering with citizens' health will not be tolerated.
