Forest Land Liberated from Encroachers
In a significant operation, the administration in Guna district has reclaimed approximately 360 bighas of government forest land in the Maksudangarh Forest Range from illegal occupation. A joint team of the Forest Department, Police, and Revenue officials, led by SDM Amit Kumar Soni of Raghogarh, utilized heavy machinery to clear the encroachment.
The objective is to undertake extensive afforestation and forest establishment in the area, ensuring environmental protection and forest enrichment. This crucial campaign was executed under the joint direction and guidance of Collector Kishore Kanyal, Superintendent of Police Hitika Vasal, and Divisional Forest Officer Akshay Rathore. The reclaimed land is situated in Beat Banjala, Compartment No. 757 of the Maksudangarh Forest Range.
Record of Previous Actions and Modern Equipment Deployment
This action follows a similar successful reclamation of 120 bighas of forest land in the village of Sunderpura on July 14, 2026, demonstrating the administration's commitment to safeguarding government land. The recent operation saw the deployment of heavy machinery, including 18 JCBs and 2 Poclain machines, highlighting the scale of the encroachment and the administration's prompt response.
To maintain peace and prevent any untoward incidents, a robust team of 100 forest personnel, 35 police officers, and 15 administrative officials was deployed on-site. This strategic deployment ensured the smooth execution of the eviction process.
Resistance Foiled by Preparedness
During the operation, some anti-social elements and encroachers attempted to disrupt the campaign using slings, sticks, and batons, aiming to maintain their illegal hold on government property. However, their efforts were thwarted by the administration's well-planned preparations, stringent security arrangements, and the substantial presence of security forces.
Before any force became necessary, the encroachers, realizing their plans were failing, fled the scene. This development indicates the administration was fully prepared to handle any form of resistance. The district administration has sent a clear message that any illegal occupation of government and forest land will not be tolerated under any circumstances.
Continued Action Against Illegal Occupations
Various senior officials from different departments were present during the entire operation, including Sub-Divisional Forest Officer Inder Singh Dhakad, Executive Magistrate Kamal Singh Koli, Rangers Dharmendra Sharma, Saurabh Dwivedi, Hemant Bhargav, Dipankar Singh, Sachin Gupta, Prerna Dubey, and Jamner Station House Officer Manoj Mehra.
The district administration has unequivocally stated that similar stringent and continuous actions will be undertaken in the future to protect natural resources, maintain ecological balance, and uphold the rule of law in the country. This proactive and swift action by the administration has sent a clear local message that no leniency will be shown towards illegal construction and unauthorized encroachment, and the law will be strictly enforced.
