Anti-Encroachment Drive Targets Public Spaces in Guna
In a bid to enhance cleanliness and public order in Guna city, the district administration has initiated a special anti-encroachment campaign. Under the direction of Collector Kishore Kumar Kanyal, stringent action was taken on Saturday against illegal occupations on roads and drains in Ward Number 32 of the Cant Gulabganj area.
The campaign saw the Municipal Council and administrative staff utilizing JCB machines to demolish the encroachments. During this joint operation, officials identified and removed a total of 21 platforms and structures that were illegally constructed on public roads and drains. The primary aim of this action was to facilitate smoother traffic flow and ensure the proper functioning of the drainage system, which had been hindered by these encroachments.
Penalties and Warnings Issued to Encroachers
The administration not only removed the encroachments but also imposed a fine of one thousand rupees on individuals who violated sanitation standards. Furthermore, the concerned encroachers were given a stern warning against future repetitions. Several individuals have been issued notices, clearly stating that any construction or occupation on public land will not be tolerated.
Officials emphasized that any negligence in maintaining public order will be taken seriously. If encroachments are found again on public property in the future, strict punitive action will be taken as per regulations. This move by the administration is aimed at improving the city's infrastructure and ensuring citizens better access to public facilities.

Key officials present during this joint operation included Additional Superintendent of Police Prashant Suman, Deputy Collector Divyanshu Shivhare, and Municipal Council Chief Municipal Officer (CMO) Shailesh Awasthi. They oversaw the process of removing encroachments alongside the municipal staff and police force.
The district administration believes that such regular monitoring and effective actions will lead to significant improvements in the city's systems. Similar campaigns are expected to be carried out in other wards of the city in the coming times, ensuring Guna remains a more organized and cleaner place. The administration has appealed for full cooperation from citizens in this endeavor.
