Tragic Incident in Fatehganj West

In a heart-wrenching incident in the Fatehganj West police station area of Bareilly, a young man has reportedly taken his own life by hanging himself in a rented room. The deceased has been identified as 38-year-old Ravi Gupta alias Sonu, originally from Gola Gokrannath in Lakhimpur Kheri.

Discovery and Police Involvement

The incident occurred on Tuesday morning in the Ansari locality, where Ravi Gupta was residing as a tenant in a house owned by Sudesh Somvanshi. Around 9 AM, when the landlord knocked on Ravi's door and received no response, he became suspicious and alerted the police. Upon receiving the information, outpost in-charge Adesh Kumar, along with his team, arrived at the scene.

Body Recovered, Investigation Underway

The police forcefully broke open the room's door and discovered Ravi Gupta's body hanging from the fan with a dupatta. The body was immediately sent for post-mortem examination at the district hospital after a preliminary inquest was conducted. The police have taken possession of the body and have initiated an investigation into the matter.

Motive Linked to Mother's Death

According to Ravi's elder brother, Rajiv Gupta, and other family members, Ravi had been deeply affected and mentally disturbed following the recent death of their mother, Sheela Devi. He had returned only after the tenth-day rituals for his mother were completed. The family stated that Ravi previously worked at a pesticide shop but was currently involved in catering work in Bareilly.

Ravi's wife, Roshni, is currently staying at her parental home with their two children, Aarav and Abhi. This unexpected death has sent a profound shockwave through the family and a wave of grief has swept through the entire locality.
