Grand Janmashtami Celebration at Narsinghgarh's Shri Jamat Temple

Narsinghgarh | September 5, 2026

The auspicious occasion of Lord Krishna's birth anniversary was celebrated with immense grandeur and devotion at the Shri Jamat temple in Narsinghgarh. Following the traditions of the revered Mahant Shri Nandram Das Ji Maharaj, the temple family, devotees, and the women's group, under the guidance of Mahant Shri Dipendra Das Ji Maharaj, ensured this sacred event was truly memorable.

Divine Preparations and Decorations

Preparations for the Janmashtami festivities included a Panchamrit (five nectars) ceremonial bathing of Thakur Ji (Lord Krishna), who was then adorned in a special attire brought from Mathura. The temple was decorated with countless flowers, offering devotees a divine experience reminiscent of Mathura. A beautiful cradle (hindola) was also set up for Thakur Ji.

Melodious Bhajans Fill the Temple

The temple premises resonated with soul-stirring bhajans from 8:00 PM until 2:00 AM. Esteemed singers Satish Agarwal 'Chatu Kheda', Shubham Ojha, Harshvardhan Solanki, Kumari Anushka Paliwal, and Kumari Asha Goswami captivated the audience with their melodious renditions. Devotees were moved by the devotional fervor, dancing in ecstasy.

Children's Competitions Add to the Festivities

Witnessing the temple's splendor and the celebratory atmosphere, coordinator of Manviya Seva Samiti Bhojpura, Shri Arjun Singh, decided to organize decoration competitions for young participants, namely 'Little Kanha' and 'Pooja Thali' (worship plate) decoration. The committee awarded prizes for the best decorated Little Kanhas and exquisitely decorated Pooja Thalis prepared by the women's group.

Decoration Competition Winners Announced

In the Kanha and Radha decoration competition, Kanak Gupta and Pihu Sharma secured the first position, Mansi Namdev and Chhavi Gupta came second, while Urvashi Sahu and Priyanshi Solanki took third place. For Pooja Thali decoration, GunGun Agarwal was the winner, Mrs. Manju Kamal Gupta secured the second position, and Preeti Karan Bikawat ranked third. All winners were honored with the Aparna Shield, garlands, and cash prizes. Devotees lauded the committee's initiative and expressed their gratitude to Shri Arjun Singh.

Culmination and Post-Celebration Events

The entire Krishna Janmashtami celebration was overseen by Mahant Shri Dipendra Ji Khaki of Shri Jamat temple. The following day, Saturday, a 'Badhawa Utsav' (celebration of good tidings) was also organized by the women's group and the temple community at 4:00 PM.
