The holy festival of Shri Krishna Janmashtami was celebrated with immense joy and enthusiasm at the ancient Shri Radha Krishna Temple located in Baradari on September 6, 2026. The temple was specially decorated for the occasion, and the idol of Bal Gopal was adorned beautifully. Devotees joyfully celebrated the 'Palna Utsav' by placing Bal Gopal on a swing, a significant part of the Janmashtami celebrations.

Soulful Bhajan Sandhya Captivates Devotees

Following tradition, a grand Bhajan Sandhya was organized in the temple premises. Artists from the esteemed local group, Shri Sadguru Musical Group, enthralled the audience with their performances. Led by convener Anita Devi, the artists presented melodious bhajans until late into the night, filling the entire atmosphere with devotion.

Enchanting Performances by Young Bal Gopals

Several young children, dressed as Radha and Krishna, presented captivating dance performances that mesmerized the assembled crowd. These performances not only enhanced the festive spirit but also touched everyone with their innocence and devotion. The young artists showcased their talent on various songs, leaving the devotees deeply moved.

Exciting Matki Phod Event Adds Thrill to Celebrations

After the Mahapuja, an exciting Matki Phod event was held, drawing enthusiastic participation from a large number of town residents. In this traditional game, participants vied to break a high-hanging earthen pot to retrieve the Prasad within. The event fostered a spirit of camaraderie and physical prowess.

The Mahapuja concluded amidst the resonant beat of drums and cymbals, followed by the distribution of Panjiri and Laddus as Prasad to the devotees. The offerings from the Shri Sadguru Musical Group, under the skillful coordination of Anita Devi, focused on Krishna's divine stories and glory. The devotees felt blessed after receiving the Prasad.
