Grand Felicitation Ceremony and Poetry Recital Held for Teacher's Day in Bhopal

The Cliff News | Bhopal | September 5, 2026 A grand Teacher Felicitation Ceremony and Poetry Recital was organized at Babu Lal Gaur Government Post-Graduate College, BHEL, Bhopal, on the occasion of Teacher's Day, September 5, 2026. The event aimed to express gratitude and respect towards teachers, with active participation from academicians, litterateurs, and students.

The Directorate of Culture, Madhya Pradesh, was the main sponsor of the program, while the Society of NGO Awareness, Avadhpuri, BHEL, Bhopal, was present as a supporting organization. The ceremony commenced under the chairmanship of the college's Principal, Dr. Sanjay Kumar Jain, with the welcome and lamp lighting of the guests.

Renowned poet Shri Sanjay Singh was present as the chief guest. On this occasion, the President of the Society of NGO Awareness, Shri Mahendra Prasad Sharma, along with Smt. Manju Sharma and young Anshika Pandey, were the special guests. The program began with the lighting of lamps and offering flowers at the portrait of Goddess Saraswati. A floral tribute was also paid to India's first Vice President and second President, Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan.

College student Shashi Vanshkar presented a Saraswati Vandana, while Muskan Thackeray offered a Guru Vandana through dance. The melodious devotional song by little Anshika Pandey filled the gathering with spirituality.

Honoring Teachers: A Symbol of Gratitude

A significant part of the program was the Teacher Felicitation Ceremony. The President of the Society of NGO Awareness, Shri Mahendra Prasad Sharma, first honored the college's Principal, Dr. Sanjay Kumar Jain. Subsequently, approximately 50 teachers from the college were honored with shawls and gifts. This felicitation powerfully expressed deep gratitude, respect, and honor for the teaching community, a humble effort to acknowledge their tireless efforts and invaluable contribution to society.

Poetry Recital: The Melody of Literature

Following the teacher felicitation, a vibrant poetry recital was organized. Students from the college's Original Literature Forum, including Shreya Vishwakarma, Manan Dixit, Prachi Vishwakarma, and Tushar Pandey, impressively recited their original poems dedicated to their gurus, providing a platform for young talent.

Bhopal's poet Shri Nitesh presented his poignant couplet, "Hey Naman Guruvar Tumhe Sweekar Ho" (May this salutation be accepted, respected Guru), which was highly appreciated by the audience. The chief guest, renowned poet Shri Sanjay Singh, elevated the poetry recital with his performances. He began his recital with his well-known song, "Sach Baat Poochti Hoon, Batana Na Babuji, Chupana Na Babuji, Kya Yaad Meri Aati Nahi!" (I ask you truthfully, don't hide it, father, don't conceal it, don't you remember me!). This emotional composition deeply moved the entire auditorium, bringing tears to many listeners' eyes.

Following this, he presented another popular poem, "Haaye Mere Laal, Kaisa Din Ye Dikhaya" (Alas my son, what a day you have shown me), which was met with immense appreciation and applause from the audience. Shri Singh's sensitive and touching performances made the poetry recital an unforgettable experience.

Student Encouragement and Gratitude

The institution's secretary, Satish Purohit, delivered the welcome address and, on behalf of the institution, awarded prizes to ten students for their outstanding performance in various activities, thereby encouraging them. This initiative not only motivated the students but also honored their talents.

The successful and effective coordination of the program was handled by Dr. Kamlesh Singh Negi, an Assistant Professor in the Hindi department. At the end of the program, Shreya Vishwakarma, a student from the Original Literature Forum, expressed heartfelt gratitude to all the guests, the principal, teachers, students, and all the supporters involved in the event.

The presence of the college's entire academic and non-academic staff, along with a large number of students, further enhanced the success of this event. This program, organized on Teacher's Day, proved to be a significant platform for expressing respect and gratitude towards teachers. It also provided a powerful medium for showcasing students' literary and cultural talents. The ceremony underscored the dignity of the Guru-Shishya tradition and further strengthened the respect for education and teachers in the hearts of all present.
