Administrative Lapses Spark Public Anger in Gonda

In the Gonda district of Uttar Pradesh, growing discontent among citizens over administrative shortcomings and law and order concerns has become vocal. Local villagers in the Devariya Alawal Gram Panchayat are distressed by delays in appointing a new sanitation worker after a transfer, impacting the area's cleanliness.

Additional Development Officer Panchayat, Parmatadin, expressed ignorance regarding the matter, highlighting a lack of departmental coordination. The Saryu Canal Division First of the Irrigation Department is also facing serious allegations of irregularities. Executive Engineer Satish Kumar is accused of favoritism towards Senior Assistant Amit Sharma.

Amit Sharma has been stationed at the same post for nearly twenty years and has been given the charge of administrative officer in violation of government orders, despite senior employees being present in the office. Superintending Engineer Manoj Sahu and Chief Engineer Sanjay Tripathi have yet to provide a clear response on this significant issue.

Journalists' Safety Questioned, Union Demands Action

Rising attacks on journalists have sent a wave of concern through the district. The All India Journalists Association submitted a memorandum to the District Magistrate and Superintendent of Police in protest against incidents involving Satyam Mishra and Atul Tiwari.

The association has demanded a secure environment for journalists and swift, stringent legal action against the culprits. A large number of journalists and social representatives were present during the submission of the memorandum, underscoring the gravity of the issue.

In a move to strengthen law and order, the newly appointed Chowki Incharge of Maskanwa, Abhinav Bharat Singh, has intensified night patrols immediately upon assuming office. He has urged local traders to effectively utilize safety equipment.

Meanwhile, the Samajwadi Party has seriously highlighted the problems of farmers and common citizens affected by natural disasters in the Tarabganj Assembly constituency. Party leaders submitted a four-point demand letter to the Sub-Divisional Magistrate, seeking immediate solutions.

They specifically emphasized the disruption to life caused by waterlogging, crop damage, and the necessity of restoring electricity supply. Protests by citizens against administrative apathy and issues concerning public interest continue in various parts of the district. This situation is increasing pressure on the concerned departments to establish accountability. Finding prompt and effective solutions to these complex problems presents a major challenge for the local administration.
