Festivals and Cultural Events on the Horizon
Gonda district in Uttar Pradesh is preparing for a series of significant social events, most notably the Maharaja Shri Agrasen Jayanti Samaroh. The festivities commence on October 4th with a cycle race, notably including female participants for the first time.
This four-day celebration, scheduled for October 4th, 9th, 10th, and 11th, will feature a diverse array of cultural and sporting competitions. These include Mayuri Dandiya, Garba Utsav, Master Chef, chess, and tug-of-war. The event will culminate with flag hoisting and prize distribution.
Stray Animal Menace Claims Young Life
Amidst these upcoming celebrations, the growing menace of stray animals in the district has sparked serious concern. In the village of Amberpur Khesri, within the Mankapur Kotwali area, a 15-year-old student, Arun Kumar, tragically lost his life early Saturday morning after being attacked by a stray bull.
Eyewitnesses reported that the bull violently gored the student, inflicting fatal injuries on the spot. This incident has incensed villagers, who are now demanding that the administration find a lasting solution to the stray animal problem. Police have taken custody of the body and initiated further investigation.
Emphasis on Swift Resolution in Public Grievance Hearings
Meanwhile, administrative efforts are also underway with ongoing public grievance hearings. At the Sampurn Samadhan Diwas held in Alawal Devriya, DIG Ashok Kumar Shukla of the Devi Patan range was present to hear people's complaints.
He issued strict instructions to revenue and police department officials to expedite and ensure the quality of resolution for all received complaints. DIG Shukla stressed that problem-solving should not be merely a formality but should prioritize the satisfaction of the complainant.
Chitragupt Sabha Submits Memorandum
Additionally, the Akhil Bhartiya Chitragupt Sabha presented a memorandum outlining two key demands to the Union Minister of State for External Affairs, Kirti Vardhan Singh. Led by the Sabha's National Vice President Vivek Mani Srivastava, the memorandum calls for the establishment of a Chitragupt Dwar in Gonda city and the allocation of two bighas of land for incoming Kayastha families. These demands are linked to the cultural and social development of the Kayastha community.
