Activity-Based Learning and Reading Culture Emphasized at Godwa Teachers' Meeting

Balrampur, July 21, 2026 – A significant meeting of cluster teachers from the Nyaya Panchayat level was held on Tuesday at the Upper Primary School in Godwa, Balrampur district. The primary objective of this gathering was to make the teaching-learning process more effective and to promote a culture of reading.

Presided over by DIET spokesperson Pawan Kumar Verma, the meeting saw teachers being instructed in new teaching methodologies and techniques for activity-based learning. ARP Nirmal Kumar Dwivedi and Praveen Kumar attended as special guests. The proceedings were managed by cluster teacher Govind Narayan Tiwari, while nodal cluster teacher Tripurari Kanaujia and cluster teacher Balveer presented their views according to the agenda.

Boosting Activity-Based Learning

The core of the discussion revolved around making students' learning methods more engaging and permanent. Amit Kumar Balivan, the officiating headmaster of Composite School Jogia Madhya Nagar, delivered a special presentation on promoting activity-based learning.

He detailed how incorporating activities can make teaching more interesting for children. This approach helps students not only grasp concepts better but also retain knowledge for longer periods. Such methods are crucial for making learning enjoyable and effective.

Catch-Up Program and Reading Culture Directives

During the meeting, there was also an in-depth deliberation on adhering to 10 key teaching-learning processes. Teachers were instructed to implement a 'Catch-Up' teaching program, considering the current learning levels of students, to bring lagging students into the mainstream.

Furthermore, extensive brainstorming took place on measures to develop a reading culture in schools. Teachers were encouraged to adopt methods that cultivate reading habits among students and promote the extensive use of books for knowledge acquisition. All 15 schools within the Nyaya Panchayat, including teachers, education volunteers, and instructors, enthusiastically participated in this educational initiative.

Several other educators and academicians were present, including Shyam Babu Pandey, Kamlesh Gupta, Seeta Ram Shukla, Tabrez Ahmed, Pawan Kumar, and Malti Arya. This meeting has opened new avenues for exploring improvements in the quality of education.
