Intensive Inspection of Kanpur Anwarganj-Farrukhabad Rail Section

General Manager of Northeast Railway, Uday Borwankar, conducted a thorough inspection of the Kanpur Anwarganj-Farrukhabad rail section on Thursday. During the inspection, he reviewed development works underway as part of the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme and issued strict instructions to ensure adherence to safety standards.

Arriving at Farrukhabad station at 3:15 PM, the General Manager meticulously observed the ongoing works for over an hour. He assessed the condition of railway tracks, overhead electric (OHE) lines, points and crossings, level crossings, and major bridges. He gave stern directives to officials to leave no stone unturned in ensuring safety.

This inspection was part of a comprehensive campaign by Northeast Railway to assess ongoing development projects and their implementation status across crucial rail sections within its jurisdiction.

Emphasis on Passenger Facilities and Review of Development Works

As part of his inspection itinerary, the General Manager examined the layout of the Kanpur Anwarganj-Mandhana Elevated Corridor at Mandhana station. He emphasized the need to improve passenger amenities under this project, including better seating arrangements, sanitation, and accessibility. He specifically stressed that development works should not only be structural but also enhance the passenger experience.

At Kannauj station, he closely inspected the under-construction lift, escalator, foot overbridge, and the railway colony. The General Manager focused on both the quality and pace of construction for these facilities. He expressed satisfaction with the progress but also underscored the importance of strict adherence to deadlines.

At Gursahai Ganj station, the General Manager inspected modern toilets, waiting rooms, and a water tank. He also arranged for an immediate check of the local drinking water quality to ensure that passengers have access to clean and safe water. He directed that the water supply be regularly checked and its quality maintained.

Instructions for Quality Construction within Deadlines

At Farrukhabad station, the General Manager conducted a detailed review of the circulating area, waiting rooms, goods shed, and parcel office. He closely monitored the speed and quality of upgrades in all these areas. He clarified that the primary objective of the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme is to provide world-class facilities at stations, and any laxity in achieving this goal will not be tolerated.

He issued clear instructions to complete all ongoing development works within the stipulated timelines and to a high standard of quality. He urged project managers to submit regular progress reports and to be proactive in resolving any impediments immediately. He emphasized that these projects are not just about construction, but about providing passengers with a safe, comfortable, and seamless travel experience.

Several senior railway officials, including Chief Administrative Officer Anuj Mittal and Divisional Railway Manager of Izzatnagar, Veena Sinha, were present during this important inspection. All officials were instructed to ensure compliance with the General Manager's directives and to personally oversee the progress of safety and development works in their respective areas. The railway administration reiterated that works related to passenger safety and amenities will be given the highest priority, and there will be no compromise on quality or safety at any level.
