Flood Situation Grips Farrukhabad Villages
The surging waters of the Ganga river have led to a severe flood situation in Farrukhabad district, submerging 27 villages. The rising water levels have disrupted daily life, prompting authorities to conduct an on-site assessment late Tuesday evening.
Official Visit and Relief Efforts
Sub-Divisional Magistrate of Amritpur, Shweta Sahu, Additional Superintendent of Police Girish Kumar, and Rajeepur Police Station Officer Nagendra Singh, used a steamer to inspect flood-affected areas such as Islam Ki Madhaiya and Tissram Ki Madhaiya. They interacted directly with villagers to understand their problems and promised solutions.
Officials advised villagers to avoid deep water and use boats only when absolutely necessary. Specific instructions were issued for the extra care of children and the elderly.
Relief Camp and Aid Distribution
A relief camp has been established at Ram Niwas Mahavidyalaya in Chitrakoot for those affected by the floods. By approximately 8 PM on Tuesday, 30 families at the camp received meals and snacks. Additional SP Girish Kumar actively participated in relief work by distributing food to flood victims himself.
SDM Shweta Sahu confirmed that adequate arrangements for food are in place at the relief camp. Provisions are also being made for livestock. To prevent disruptions to education, teachers have been instructed to conduct classes for children at the relief camp.
Continuous Monitoring and Public Awareness
The administration is maintaining constant surveillance in the flood-affected villages. Authorities have urged villagers to evacuate to safer locations immediately if the water level continues to rise. Instructions have been given to report any emergency situation to the administration without delay.
Officials have encouraged villagers to remain vigilant and adhere to the directives issued by the administration.
