Five-Day Ganesh Festival Concludes in Tulsipur

The five-day Shree Ganesh Pujan Utsav in Tulsipur town, Balrampur district, concluded on Friday in an extremely devotional and traditional atmosphere. Despite heavy rains, the enthusiasm of devotees was at its peak, with the entire town resonating with chants of 'Ganpati Bappa Moriya' until late evening.

Idols of Lord Ganesh, installed in various pandals, were grandly decorated on vehicles for a procession that ultimately reached the banks of the Siria River in Devipatan, where the idols were immersed with due rituals.

Traditional Rhythms Replace DJ Sound

A significant highlight of this year's Ganesh Visarjan procession was the complete prohibition of DJ sound by the organizers. Instead, the rhythmic beats of traditional drums and 'nagaadas' were heard throughout the route, giving the festival a unique identity.

Devotees, celebrating with gulal and wishing for his swift return with chants of 'Agle Baras Tu Jaldi Aa' (Come back soon next year), danced and sang as they carried the idols to the immersion site. Men, women, and children participated with full faith and enthusiasm, even as they got drenched in the rain.

Peaceful Immersion with Enhanced Security

After reaching the riverbank, all Ganesh idols were worshipped according to religious customs before being immersed in the Siria River. The local police administration had made stringent security arrangements for the entire event.

Police forces were deployed on the main routes of the town and in areas considered sensitive. The police played a crucial role in managing traffic smoothly and ensuring the procession continued without any disruption.

Thanks to the administration's cooperation and the discipline shown by the devotees, the entire Ganesh Visarjan program concluded peacefully. Local residents heartily welcomed the DJ-free immersion this year, calling it a commendable step in line with centuries-old traditions. At the end of the festival, all devotees bid farewell, wishing for Bappa's return next year.
