Traffic Restrictions for Diwali Shopping

To facilitate smoother movement for citizens shopping in Guna during the festive occasion of Diwali, the district administration has taken significant steps. As per directives issued by SDM Shivani Pandey, the entry of three and four-wheeler vehicles will be completely prohibited in prominent commercial areas like Sadar Bazaar and Haat Road from November 6th to November 11th.

During this period, the public will only be permitted to use two-wheeler vehicles. This measure aims to alleviate unnecessary traffic jams in the markets. To ensure citizens face no inconvenience, the administration has arranged special parking facilities at five designated locations within the city.

Designated Parking and Food Zone Initiatives

These parking spots include the area behind the Co-operative Bank, behind the Excellence School, the Old Tehsil Building, the Veterinary Hospital premises, and Bapu Park. White markings are being made to easily identify these parking sites, ensuring vehicle owners face no difficulty in parking their vehicles.

With the goal of providing better facilities to citizens during the festive season, the municipality is also planning to develop a special 'Food Zone' behind the stadium. Here, a variety of food items will be available for enjoyment. To organize this food zone and maintain smooth traffic flow, the administration plans to clear encroachments from the area behind the stadium.

Long-Term Traffic Improvement Plans

SDM Shivani Pandey clarified that this is just the first step towards improving traffic management. Similar arrangements will be implemented in other important areas of the city in the future. The primary objective of these initiatives is to control overcrowding and traffic congestion in the markets, allowing citizens to enjoy their Diwali shopping without any hindrance.

The administration has appealed to citizens to adhere to these regulations and cooperate with the arrangements, ensuring the festive spirit is celebrated without any disruptions.
