Tribute to Late Former MLA

Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh, a senior leader of the Bharatiya Janata Party and former Member of Parliament, visited the residence of the late former Jan Sangh MLA Ashfaq Ahmad Khan in Balrampur. He met with the bereaved family and expressed his deep sorrow over Khan's demise, offering a heartfelt tribute.

Singh prayed for the eternal peace of the departed soul and offered solace to the family. He recalled Khan's long and significant political journey, highlighting his tenure as a Jan Sangh MLA and his role as one of the founding members of the Bharatiya Janata Party. Khan was also a member of the national executive and a close associate of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee.

In 1977, Ashfaq Khan achieved a resounding victory contesting from the Balrampur Sadar assembly seat as a Jan Sangh candidate. Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh described Ashfaq Khan as a living example of Ganga-Jamuni tehzeeb (a composite culture).
