The national president of the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP), Mayawati, has expelled senior party leader and former Health Minister Anant Kumar Mishra, also known as Antu Mishra, from the party with immediate effect. The expulsion is due to allegations of his involvement in anti-party activities.

This announcement was made by BSP supremo Mayawati on the social media platform 'X' (formerly Twitter) on Thursday. In her official social media post, Mayawati clarified that Anant Kumar Mishra, who previously served as Health Minister in the BSP government, was working against the party's interests.

"Anant Kumar Mishra alias Antu Mishra, who was the Health Minister in the BSP government in Uttar Pradesh, has been expelled from the party with immediate effect today as a result of his anti-party activities etc.," she stated.

Call for Vigilance Amidst Election Campaign

With this expulsion, Mayawati has also urged party workers and officials to remain united and be wary of the conspiracies of opponents in view of the upcoming Assembly elections. She emphasized the need for all levels of the party to remain vigilant against the opponents' tactics and work with full honesty and dedication to make the BSP's Ambedkarite mission successful in the upcoming Assembly elections.

Anant Kumar Mishra was a prominent minister in the previous BSP government formed in 2007, holding charge of the Medical and Health department. His expulsion is being seen as a significant step towards maintaining discipline within the party and organizing it for the upcoming elections. This development also points towards internal discord and organizational challenges within the party, especially as political activities intensify for the Assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh.
