Food Safety Department Cracks Down on Adulteration in Bhind; Samples Sent to Bhopal for Testing
In preparation for upcoming festivals, the Food Safety Department has intensified its crackdown on food adulteration in Bhind district, sending collected samples for analysis.

Intensified Action Ahead of Festivals
In anticipation of the upcoming festive season, the Food Safety Department has ramped up its efforts to curb food adulteration in the Bhind district. Acting on the directives of Collector Kirodi Lal Meena and under the guidance of the Designated Officer, a Food Safety team conducted raids on various establishments in the Mau area, collecting samples of food products.
These collected samples have been dispatched to the State Food Testing Laboratory in Bhopal for quality examination. The department had received complaints regarding the operation of an RO plant in Mau during this operation. The firm's operator was not present at the time of inspection.
RO Plant Operation Under Scrutiny
The on-site employee, Pooran Singh, and the operator's wife were asked to present food registration and water testing reports. However, they were unable to provide the necessary documentation. The inspection team also discovered a large stock of water and cold drink bottles in a locked warehouse adjacent to the premises.
The team has sealed the warehouse pending the operator's arrival. This action underscores the department's commitment to ensuring the purity of food items during the festival period.
Samples Collected from Various Businesses
Samples were collected from several businesses including Giriraj Dairy (owner Vinod Yadav) for milk, Siddhant Trading Company (owner Sanjeev Jain) for Ambik Love Star Caramel Toffee, Jandel Singh Gurjar for Mawa, Prashiddhi Sales Agency (owner Pushpendra Kumar Jain) for Son Papdi, Siddh Baba Dairy (owner Rambihari Rathore) for Mawa, and Brijesh Kushwah for namkeen and biscuits.
The department officials clarified that any form of adulteration in food products will not be tolerated during this festive season.
The results of the collected samples are currently awaited. Following the examination, strict legal action will be taken against the culprits as per regulations. This initiative is a significant step towards ensuring consumers in the district receive safe and pure food products.
