Food Department Cracks Down on Adulteration

The Food Safety Department in Bhind district has intensified its efforts against those compromising consumer health. Under the leadership of Food Safety Officer Kiran Sengar, a sample of mawa was collected from a dairy in Gram Lavan.

Additionally, a sample of mixed milk was seized from a milk vehicle belonging to Mal khan Singh Khatik. Both samples have been sent to the State Food Testing Laboratory in Bhopal for further investigation under the Food Safety and Standards Act.

This action is a significant step towards curbing adulteration and ensuring consumers receive pure products. The department aims to verify that all food products sold in the market meet prescribed quality standards.

Consumer Awareness and Training Initiatives

To educate the public about food adulteration, Kiran Sengar organized a mobile food testing laboratory at the Mahakaleshwar Temple complex on Gauri Road. During this event, attendees were taught simple methods to test the purity of various food items at home.

This initiative was designed to empower consumers, enabling them to independently confirm the quality of their food. Informative pamphlets were also distributed, providing simple home remedies to identify adulteration in commonly used food items like milk, mawa, and ghee.

Experts believe such awareness campaigns are effective in protecting the general public from falling prey to adulterators.

Training for Food Vendors

The department also inspected street food stalls and vendors on Gauri Road. The team provided training on hygiene and food safety standards, emphasizing precautions during the storage, preparation, and sale of food items.

The objective of this training was to ensure that food reaching the public is safe and of high quality. Vendors were advised on maintaining food quality and providing clean, safe meals to customers.

The department clarified that strict action will be taken against any vendor found violating quality standards. This enforcement highlights the department's commitment to protecting public health and ensuring food safety.
