Flood Alert Issued in Farrukhabad as Water Levels Rise

Farrukhabad, August 27, 2026 – In response to the rising water levels, the administration in Farrukhabad has been put on high alert. Security measures have been intensified, and close monitoring is being conducted in affected areas to prepare for any potential flood situations.

Joint Operations Ensure Livestock Safety

Police and revenue teams are working in tandem to prevent any untoward incidents. Upon receiving information about livestock tied by the roadside near Gandhi village in the Thana Patajpur area of the Etawah-Bareilly Highway, a joint team promptly arrived at the scene. Lekhpal Shravan Yadav, SI Ashutosh Kumar, and Head Constable Vinay Kumar, along with their contingent, successfully moved approximately a dozen cattle tied on the road to safer locations.

Authorities have urged local villagers to move their animals to the designated safe shelters established near Mohammadpur Gadhiya. This measure aims to facilitate smooth highway traffic and prevent potential accidents.

Flood Situation Assessed and Relief Preparations Reviewed

In a related development, Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Shweta Sahu, accompanied by Lekhpal Pawan Kumar, conducted a thorough inspection of the flood situation at Chitrakoot Dip. They advised local residents against entering floodwaters and urged them to immediately seek refuge in higher, safer grounds.

The SDM clarified that if floodwaters inundate villages, all affected residents should be transferred to the flood relief center located at Ramnivas Mahavidyalaya, which is equipped with all necessary facilities for flood victims.

Community Engagement and Safety Directives

Subsequently, Sub-Divisional Magistrate Shweta Sahu and Tehsildar Shashank Singh visited the outskirts of Badnapur village. They gathered information about the current flood situation from the local villagers.

Officials issued strict instructions to the villagers, emphasizing the need for heightened vigilance and maintaining a safe distance from the floodwaters.

Expediting Relief Material Distribution

To accelerate relief and rescue operations in flood-affected villages, Sub-Divisional Magistrate Shweta Sahu has directed Lekhpals to distribute relief materials promptly. She stressed that Lekhpals should go door-to-door to deliver essential aid to affected families, ensuring no one experiences delays in receiving timely assistance.

The SDM instructed Lekhpals to gather accurate information on the flood situation and the number of affected families in the villages, and to exercise utmost diligence in distributing relief materials. She stated that the administration's paramount priority is to ensure that every flood-affected individual receives all possible support.

Flood Protection Centers Operational

Sub-Divisional Magistrate Shweta Sahu further informed that a total of 14 flood protection centers have been established in the Amritpur tehsil area. Continuous monitoring of flood-affected regions is underway, with administration teams closely observing the evolving situation.

She appealed to local citizens to cooperate with the administration and to move to safe shelters immediately in case of any emergency.
